How To Glow At Home

Updated: Apr 24, 2020

Follow these easy steps for the ultimate facial experience and the best skin ever!

1. Set The Mood

Why: Getting in the right state of mind and drawing relaxation and peace is just as important as the products and techniques you are about to pamper yourself with. The point is to take care of yourself and feel loved, blissfully comfortable and beautiful. Find your happy place.

What: I think that setting the right "ambience" is totally relative and it may differ from person to person, but I love to light my PelleLulu Intention Candles, run a bath with The Eye and clear my head (and energy) before my facial. Oh, and ya cant forget the playlist! I personally love me some Lana Del Rey on some days, and other days, I really enjoy nature sounds. This is also a matter of personal preference, but try to go with something soothing.

How: Remind yourself that you deserve it. Do whatever you must to find your inner peace, and dive into self love.

2. Cleanse

Why: Cleansing removes dirt, excess oil and other debris from your skin so that the next products you use will be as effective as possible. We like to use the Double Cleanse Method.

What: We begin with an oil based cleanser like Benevolent Facial Oil to melt away tough makeup, thick SPF, and all the impurities accumulated from each day, followed with a gentle foamy cleanser like Banish Cleansing Bar.

How: Massage 2-3 pumps of BFO to damp skin and let the oil "melt" into the skin. The oil will draw out the yuckies from the skin and its pores. Gently remove BFO with a dry or damp face cloth. Now we can lift any excess debris by wetting the face and Banish Cleansing Bar. Create a lather in your hands, then apply to the face. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.

3. Exfoliate

Why: Exfoliation is extremely important. Exfoliating improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and uneven skin tone. Exfoliation removes layers of dead skin cells that make the skin appear dull. When you exfoliate, your skincare products perform at their best potential, since they can actually penetrate the skin.

What: We believe in simplicity, and Violets Face Polish proves that less is more. Effective, clean, and multitasking.

How: Take a small amount of Violets Face Polish (or Just Polish) and mix with water to a thin paste consistency. Gently massage the skin with scrub for one minute. Leave scrub on the skin for up to ten minutes to use as a detoxifying masque and to reduce oily skin.

3. Tone

Why: A toner helps remove any trace of products used up until this point.

What: Benevolently Clear Toner FTW here! It will effective remove any residue, and it is great for keeping skin clear.

How: Spritz your toner onto a cotton pad and swipe over your face, or simply mist your face with the toner

4. Facial Masage

Why: Facial massage is incredibly relaxing and beneficial. Facial massage promotes skin elasticity, its stimulates the facial muscles for the ultimate lift, and can jumpstart the skins natural detoxifying processes.

What: Our favorite facial massage medium is Desert Rose Serum, which packs a seriously nourishing punch: Kakadu and Date Seed Extracts give your skin a serious treat. Nourish, nourish, nourish!

How: Apply the 3-4 drops of serum to your whole face by stroking upwards from your chin and along either side of your nose until you reach your forehead. From here, stroke downwards along your hairline and down your jawline until you arrive back at your chin. Repeat several times, then knead your forehead and cheeks gently with small circles.

5. Seal It

Why: Lock in all the goodness you just blessed your skin with to keep it soft and supple.

What: As I've mentioned before; we're fans of simplicity and efficacy around here. We began this beautiful self care journey with BFO, and now that is how we will end it. FULL CIRCLE!

How: Massage a PEA SIZE amount of BFO to skin. Thats it. YOU DID IT!

Well? How was it? Id love to be there to touch that soft, baby booty like, gorgeous skin! Too creepy? Well, get used to it!
